Can someone please talk me out in buying the 1.8 tsi. Found one for £5,500, I'm so tempted but realistically the 1.2 is the one I'll probably ever need.

Ok, the 1.8 can clog up and have valve problems, buy the 1.2 and get a re-map.

Will that do ?

 

However,when the 1.8 first came out, I test drive one alone around the dual carriageway of Milton Keynes and severely upset a driver of a brand new SLK200, who couldn't get past...

@Bertie90  Just say no unless it is one that has already had an engine replaced or rebuilt.   Too much of a lottery to blow £5.500 on.
