Anyone used this method of shading the Infotainment

Featured Replies

Was just out walking the dog and walked past a Cupra Born parked outside someone’s house and noticed they had covered the infotainment and surrounding area with a grey microfibre drying towel/cloth that you use when washing your car.

I’m assuming it was to keep the sun off it in the summer weather whilst parked up to try and combat heat related issues and actually blended in quite well with the colour of it and wondered if anyone else had tried this trick during the summer months?

That's fine for shielding UV, the more layers the better. When I'm out I use an umbrella type windscreen shade to shield the entire dash area, however it does little to quell extreme summer heat. When parked in full sun nothing will prevent the entire interior from heating up severely, so if the infotainment is going to be heat affected there's little to prevent it, short of undercover parking.

Sounds like a good idea - I'm having issues with sunlight triggering the volume bar or the power button which is very annoying!  Mind you, the last time this happened was an hour into a journey when the sun had been on one end of the bar so a cloth wouldn't have helped that time.

i had once a problem with heat from the sun, infotainment went crazy, everything was unavailable

I was reseting it (google) I think keep pressing the power button and everything went back in operation

after a cool down of course
