Towbars & Parking Sensors

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm hoping to get a towbar on my VRS estate. I've been told that a standard swan neck will be picked up by the sensors and won't work. As a result I'll have to go for a detachable which is substantially more expensive.

Is this the case or has anyone experience of this?

Many thanks.

have a octavia h/b with aftermarket swan neck and have no problem

I have an aftermarket removable swan neck and no problem. However the wiring harness etc is original equipment.

So just to be certain, the fixed swan neck isn't perfect cked up by the parking sensor?? That'd be a big help!

I have non Skoda swan neck fitted, no problem with sensors, when boat is attatched just need to switch them off after putting in reverse.

could have paid more and had one that switches sensors off when reversing with trailer.

I have a Karoq, aftermarket towbar and electrics fitted. No problems when solo, when towing, caravan or small trailer, need to switch off parking sensors after selecting reverse. Its not really a problem as I never reverse the trailer, and rarely reverse the caravan as I have a motor mover on it and far too tight a drive to reverse into.

Octavia with removable westfalia. Never bother to remove it and absolutely no issues with parking sensors

That's great thanks a million to everyone for the replies. I've done a few tests and there seems to be a fairly sizeable sensor blind spot where the tow bar goes. Will post results after I get job done.
