Any ideas on what could cause Car Alarm transponders not to work

Some sort of jamming? Could be one of those mobile phone style jammers that they use in Cinemas.

Just a thought.

Interferance from somewhere? Would overhead power lines be a possibility?

What were the two cars parked next to her? I had a similar problem with my Focus once, when parked next to another one. I had to be right at the window of mine with the remote before it would open.
