Could someone confirm if the MK2 high level brake light is the same as the MK1, mine has decided to give up.

It may help if you say which body and trim level the car is.

For MOT purposes, you can disconnect it and it should pass (although I would confirm with the local tester).

As for the MK2, I think it's a complete unit? Unlike the MK1 it uses replacement bulbs.

 

Have you tried Facebook/eBay for someone breaking a MK2?
