Just got a new mk4 and I can answer calls by pressing the right thumb wheel but can't end a call unless I take my eyes off the road and use the big screen that looks like an afterthought stuck in the middle of the car. This is really frustrating and the salesman is a dumbfounded as I am! Anybody know about this and have a workaround? It seems like a glitch in the software

I am using Apple carplay for phonecalls and the hangup is always the selected “app” in the right side dial, so I can use the thumbpress to end it. I had faced it once that something else was selected there other than carplay, then it indeed did not work.

 

Long story short, try to have Carplay or Android auto or BT device if thats your case selected on the right dial and see of that allows you to hang up on a button press.

 

ps: Im curious what the volume dials pressin mute finction does with phone calls. Gonna test it next time

Doesn't work on mine, is yours the mk4 latest model? The phone is selected on the right dial alright using the cars Bluetooth. When a call comes in I can answer with the right thumbwheel, but once the call starts then I cannot end it unless I use the main screen, which also I cannot use if I'm reversing because the screen locks into camera mode instead!! So I'm back to using the phone itself or waiting in awkward silence for the caller to hang up.

By the way if I initiate a call, then I can use the right thumbwheel to hangup as long as the call hasn't been answered yet. I'm more convinced its a glitch now than a week ago.

As an aside, I also noticed that the massage feature in the driver seat doesn't return to the position I had after use (I think?) But I'll post a topic on this later

 

Unfortunately you are very right, I just had the same xp yesterday. If I initiate the call hangup with thumb works, otherwise not.

Do you get ringtone in the car when someone calls? I only get in the phone. So if the phones ringtone is on silence then i cant here if someone calls. 

I cant find any settings about this. I use android auto.

No, if someone calls, it rings, I can pick it up but can only hang up from the screen (except when reversimg, cause then it is locked on the radar). 

 

I actually decided to make a structured list of issues/improvement requests and will try to submit it to Skoda directly. I will share my findings with you guys in a new thread. This topic shall be on that list
