Wet footwell

Featured Replies

Hello! It is a known Fabia type disease that the car gets wet because of the rear doors. Unfortunately, this was also the case with mine, the seal is already ready, so the bathing itself is already solved. However, the car came to me with a wet floor and water standing in it. I vacuumed the water out of it and set the heating to max. When I touch it, it is no longer wet, but I am afraid that the floor plate has already started to rust due to the wetness. But of course the bottom of the car is polished from the inside, maybe that protects it. Do you think the rust started working on the bottom of the car because of the water? Thank you in advance for your answers!

Depends how long the water was sat there for. If it were me I’d sit a dehumidifier in there overnight to get any remaining moisture out the car and hope for the best, but only one way to know for sure by ripping carpets up.
