SKODA Net under the parcel shelf - was this ever done for the Superb III?

Featured Replies

Hello

Does anyone know if Skoda every produced a "SKODA Net under the parcel shelf" retrofit for the Superb III? I fitted the kit they did for the Rapid Spaceback, and I see there's also one for the Octavia III (https://skodapartsdirect.co.uk/product/skoda-octavia-2013-2017-net-under-the-parcel-shelf/), but while I've seen some Superb III parcel shelves with one fitted, I can't find any evidence of a kit or a part number.

Anyone know if there was one, and what the part number was please?

Thanks

Chris

I've never seen such an option or accessory for the mk3 Superb.

It was surely a factory option available.

At least I’m not going mad and you can see it is/was a thing.

silly thought (as I dont have a Superb Mk3 Hatch).

does your parcel shelf have these clips underneath already?

If it does maybe you need to be looking for just a net?

No, clips are not present. With the previous genuine Skoda Net Under Shelf kits, they have included the net and the mounting clips (along with a template to drill the holes in the shelf to attach the clips.

Interesting.

That's a facelift Superb - must've been introduced then.

The pre-facelift doesn't have it, nor the clips on parcel shelf.

At first glance the Mk4 doesn't seem to have it (well certainly not on this one)

The mk4 uses a completely different parcel shelf design compared to the mk3 (pre-facelift) and mk3.5 (facelift).

It doesn't bend in the middle to fold.

The image on the Parkers website is a mk3.5

Wow, that Mk4 parcel shelf (apart from not being hinged in the middle) is a real basic design. Doesn't even have the hook to hold the boot floor out of the way when you lift it up.

Mine is a 2023 facelift Superb hatchback, and doesn't have the net. Very inconsistent it seems.

My Mk3FL Hatch with the hinging shelf has no net or fixings for one but I have noticed what appears to be a set of slots directly below the ones that the parcel shelf fits into.

Also spotted one of the lights not working, so much for LED's lasting longer that good old fashioned bulbs.

The slots look like they should take something like this: https://eshop.skoda-auto.sk/en_SK/multifunctional-box-octavia-iii-liftback/p/5E5061109

thats for an Octy 3, no idea if it would also fit the Superb or not. That said, the boot tray I kept from my Rapid Spaceback (one of these - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/196139666740) is a perfect fit for the Superb III boot, seems the boots are the same width, who would have thought!

The box shown above would be very handy if the octavia one fit. I'd buy one.

I'm pretty sure the net doesn't have anything to do with the rear optional sunscreen? Two very separate options.

Rear Window Sunshade makes cover as a different part (same for Mk3 2016 or Mk3.FL 2023)

Likewise. It's one of those things - I'm fairly confident the width is right for it to fit, but I am not sure the mounting kit would work in the Superb, and also that groove seems longer than the Octy, so it might just slide backwards and forwards a lot. Ideally, need to find an Octy 3 owner with one so I can try it for size before risking buying one.

I have factory fitted sun shades but I don't have the net. It was an option I did not choose to pay for.

@komoornik

not so important, but how about picture or part code at least

He doesn’t have the net! What use is a pic (and he’s unlikely to have the part number for it as he doesn’t have the net)?

@chrisgreen

just to add clearness, does he talk about sunshades option for rear doors?

which were different as rear doors + rear window

part code sticker must be located on the bottom side of the cover

Please keep this thread on topic. I started this to ask about retrofitting the net under the parcel shelf, not to discuss sun shades. Please start your own separate thread on sun shades if that’s what you want to investigate.

I have the factory fitted sun shades - both for rear doors and the shelf.

I did not choose to order the shelf net, which was an option.
