Thanks.

Had to make it look OEM, but with a plus 😊

Will take some night pics in the next day or two.

I was saying to myself few days ago... I'm curious to see if @JR RS has finished his project of front grill ligh bar. 🤔

Now I know... 😁 Nice job!

Just curious: Did you simply paste the coding of your DRL to this additional LEDs? Does it dim when directionnal blinkers are on too?

Also interested in seeing night pics. 🙂

Do you know if this is feasible on a Kodiaq Mk1 too? A friend of mine asked me 1 week ago or so. ;)

Another retrofit on @ApertureS 'To do list' 😁

I used (copied) the same adaption values from my existing DRL lighting channels - Leuchte2SL VLB10 - LED daytime running light module signal (left).

So it dims and brightness with the headlight DRLs.  i can also control the dimming and brightness values through the coding.

in theory its feasible on any Skoda models - the trick is to find a "not active" lightning channel which also has a corresponding physical pin on the BCM module, that is not occupied.  u can read about the discussion/discovery process i had on that here.

then its just a matter of running the wiring from the BCM module through the firewall and into the engine bay, down to the front bumper.

Great ! I assume it meets your expectations. It was worth doing it. ;)

I likey, and the fitment and install turned as I expected/planned.

However, after a few days now, in the day time, I'm not convinced as it doesn't have the same intensity as the headlight DRLs.

It's the same colour temp, but the brightness intensity needs tweaking.

I'll play with the adaptation values to see if I can improve its appearance during the day time.

Not sure if that will help as I think it's the actual light diffuser over the LED that is making the intensity subtle.

Might have to find a cover some that has lens or reflector properties.

Gandalf's latest "project" is complete....Front Grille DRL light bar.

Towards the end of last year Skoda released the new Kodiaq which has the front grille light stripe - I saw that and I decided that's my new project.

The new mk4 Kodiaq...

Been planning this since last year.

I'm happy with how it's turned out.

The light bar is connected to and controlled by the BCM, so it dims and brightens like the factory DRL, with the same coding. I used an empty lighting channel, Leuchte8F LB39.

The front grille has an opening that is perfectly in line with the headlight's DRL - so perfect alignment for the light bar.

The light bar I made myself, using an LED strip, a plastic holder, and a light diffuser.

Fingers crossed that the light bar hold up against the elements.

The light bar I made...

Test fitting the clips to hold the light bar behind the grille.

Mounted and wiring routed on the bumper to use the same path as the factory PDC and headlight washer wiring.

Wiring from BCM was routed through the firewall, into the engine bay, they down to the factory wiring harness for the PDC and headlight washer.

That looks pretty good, looks OEM.

Also how did you fixed those S U P E R B in the lower grill? That also a neat and different.

Nothing fancy - just the usual S U P E R B boot badge, with each letter placed on a 2cm L-shaped metal bracket, then super glued inside a honeycomb.
