Diesel remap, how much power?

Featured Replies

I have a 01 VRS which I love. And now with all my harping on about it we are changing the work horse in my place to a Octavia 1.9 TDi Elegance. What sort of power can you get with a remap out of these. I will have to drive this an odd time and my boss has a ur Quattro. So we like our go. Who is best to tune it.

Thanks:cool:

Is it a 110BHP or a 130BHP model?

Our 110 was jabbad to 164

To add 393 N/m Torque & better mpg, averages 53 mpg :) :)

164 and 393N/m!!!! Are you serious and was that a pretty aggressive remap?

If so I know what I'll be thinking of rather than a new Octy when the warrenty is out :)

Michael tweaked it a couple of times :) If you can get to Winchester you are welcome to a spin in it before you decide

Can't believe how tunable the old 110bhp is!

Does it chuck out a smoke screen upon acceleration?

The 130 is more tunable, proportionaly, than the 110 so I am led to believe.

I've heard of some people getting to around the 200 mark and 450nM with no other work done....

You can see a bit at night in the lights behind but nothing during the day is visible, Ive followed it & its not too bad

You're in winchester, who did you get to do the tune as I am around that way.

Also i heard the 110 was the most thermally efficient engine VW ever made, so if this is true there should be bags of room for tuning :)

Jabba ... who aren't that local ;)

Chris

Stuart's was tinkered with by Jabba

Yep def Jabba

Mapped at 8000 miles, now up to 114000 & still with the original clutch

You have that much through the original cluth :o OMFG, sweet.

Where are Jabba based as I wouldn't be averse to upping the power, well mainly the torque when the warrenty is out.

Hmm only problem I guess is that I would then end up doing ARBs probably lowering it and upgrading the brakes so I could be confident the car would handle fine with that extra power.

This could start to get expensive :S

Ours is still on stock springs etc & is adequate, depends what you are looking for. I save all the other mods for the 4x4 :) :)

I just love the 50+ mpg thats easy to achieve, the car makes a great daily hack & its great fun just beating the 180 bhp TT's in a Skoda Diesel

Oh my god. Quicker in a diesel that a VRS. Well that should be a great yoke to bring to site.

My friend has standard shocks and springs, uprated antiroll bars (which he put on when he did track days in it) and the only brake upgrades are different pads and fluid and that's the lot. His has done just over 120,000 miles in the last 26 months, 110,000 of them with it modified, with no problems  He's only averaged 48mpg in that time , including track days and general lunacy. On his daily commute he tells me he gets 53mpg :D

Doesn't really need much more than that.

Ok not too expensive then....

Damn it now I'm tempted again.
