Hello, I recently bought a Skoda Fabia 2019 from a Skoda dealership, The Skoda has apple carplay and it was fine for around 5 days.

Now, when I connect my phone and listen to some music after 5 or so minutes the sound quality will drop massively and it will start crackling / popping. The music will also cut out for less than a second every minute or so.

Anyone else experience this before or know a potential fix?

I've been experiencing precisely the same issue, with the same model running the same firmware, since the end of last week (approx. 29th August).

 

I've tried different cables, phones, etc., but to no avail. If I connect via Bluetooth as opposed to CarPlay, then there's no problem. Feels like a software issue...

Is your firmware up to date?

Hold the SETUP button for ~5 seconds, go into software update/versions and let me know the installed software version, ill tell you if a update is available

Updated version MEN2_EU_SKGPX_P9160L (8742) is available for this device. Maybe this will fix the issues. Trying to find the file for you now and will DM you it.

Yes it did!

 

I got the update done at a Skoda dealer in the end (the link I had didn't work and it was in for a service last week anyway).

Glad the update fixed this, And sorry the link didn’t work. Not sure why, Worked for me when i sent it!

Does anybody know how much this costs at the dealership? I’ve just purchased an 18 playe fabia and the car okay audio just crackles and skips. Very frustrating! My software update says this and I think from what I’ve read, needs updating

I don’t know exactly but i’d imagine they’d charge anywhere from £50-100 for such a simple job that you could do yourself. As Long as you have access to an SD Card, and something to put the file onto said SD Card.

 

Yes there is a software update available for that, which is MEN2_EU_SKGPX_P9160L (MU 8742) which if you have the SD you can download for free and upload.

Hello. Unfortunately, I must also report as one of the many who have problems with a scratching system in my Fabia from 2019. Is there anyone here on this thread, who can help with the mentioned update: MEN2_EU_SKGPX_P9160L (MU 8742)? I have searched and searched on the internet without success.

The newest update for skoda MEN2 units is: MEN2_EU_SKGPx_P0080L (MU 8755). it is available on mibsolution.one aswell as on drive2 with a bit of searching
