SKODA SUPERB MK2 HEAD UNIT

Featured Replies

what causes these head units to crash in the first place? ive not messed with it then one day it just displayed the swl message and now its dead, if anyone can tell me why this happens, thanks in advance

It's just electronics - sometimes hardware, sometimes software... if it display swl message then just load CD with the right firmware - send a picture of upper case label and I will share link with you

I sent you firmware link on PM. Pls note it will re-partition your HDD so all music and maps will be lost and you will have to re-upload it again.  If you woul dliek to have firmware that will not re-partition your HDD then let me know and I will send you the link earliest tomorrow evening when I am back home.

Good Afternoon @pab567

Can I ask a quick question regarding the factory Head Unit like Tom?

I'm currently in the circle of death with mine and I believe it was faulty from day of purchase.

However, I never chased it up with the sales guys as they struggled sourcing a £6/part for 8 weeks, I thought this would be way above their capabilities.

All im getting is black screen, skoda symbol, black screen for a period and then repeated.

I've tried every YouTube and forum comment on how to reset it to no avail, nothing works.

I took it to an independent Skoda specialist for other works and asked them to check the OBD for faults and they couldn't resolve it either!

They wanted me to go to another ICE Specialist but they're 90 minutes away from where I live and I need to find time to go and visit them around other more important tasks.  So I haven't visited them yet!

Currently a DMR110 Makita Site Radio is riding along on the centre rear seat (seat belt secured) providing the tunes 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

As I cannot reset it, do I presume it's a hardware component issue and write it off for good.

Just for reference the Superb is a Combi 125kW (170bhp) 2.0 TDI CR DSG L&K Mk2 FL (3T) MY 2014.

Thanks Dan

@pab567

Hey bruv thanks for replying she's still at respray shop and not due back for another 3/4 days as waiting on wheels being fully refurbished.

I'm then back at work and then away for my 4 off and then I'm back at work and then she goes away to have the front end dropped out for an engine seal to be replaced that has failed...

When she's back in middle of October can I send a few photos then, as I'll have time to pull her apart and answer any other queries that may help you help me.

Thank you again for replying so quickly and I will be back in contact Pab!

Thanks

G
