Brake pads advice

Featured Replies

Decided my front pads need changed, I’ve had the wheels off and the discs are still excellent and although there is still a decent amount left on the pads I’d rather change them now.

it’s something I can do myself but when I looked at pad options it appears there are two options relating to the disc size, 280 or 302, I never measured the disc when the wheel was off.

The Yeti is 1.4tsi L&K 4x4. Can anyone advise the front disc size and recommend a decent pad, I’m thinking  perhaps Pagid or Bosch?

thanks.

Sorry can’t edit.

it appears there are 3 disc sizes,  280 , 288 or 302.
I assume it’s either 280 or 288, any advise?

I’ve checked through the guides on Briskoda but can’t find the information.

Discs (front) are 288mm, PR-code 1ZE, current part number for genuine discs is 5Q0615301H.

Front pad set has current genuine part number 5K0698151B.

When looking for aftermarket front brake pads for the 1ZE brake system (which uses ATE front brake calipers) you can also use the earlier OEM part number 5K0698151. This can be useful because some aftermarket front brake pads aren't yet linked to the newer 5K0698151B OEM part number.

The TRW option seems reasonably priced, but there are many other options including ATE.
