Steering Wheel Icon

Featured Replies

Anyone know what the circled icon is on this standard spec Sportline example (ignore the stock iv photo as the Karoq icon is exactly the same) - looks like speed limiter/lane assist possibly but seen many brand new ones on autotrader (mostly without the icon) and only a few with it - I did think it might be down to the recent Apr24 ish spec changes where e.g. Sportline gets tablet holder etc but seen many with tablet holders but no icon on steering wheel so confused

According to the manual it switches between 'Travel Assist' and 'Adaptive Cruise control(ACC)' . So unless the vehicle has the option fitted it won't be there.

On my 2024 SEL pressing that button brings up a selection / list of things to switch on / off like lane guidance etc.

That’s what I wondered but the below link is taken from a car off auto trader which as far as I can tell is standard spec and that has the button - the latest owners manual also suggest it to do with that although they appear to have got the B-side muddled up with the A side

In my experience, any resemblence between the pictures posted by a garage and the actual car are purely coincidental!😀

So as yours has that button, has your SEL got any extras or standard spec?

Standard spec. Edit: Getting confused with my digital displays and cars mixed up, there’s no such button on our standard spec Karoo.

In that case, don’t think it can be travel assist /ACC related, so as you say it sounds like it is lane guidance - is that same thing as lane assist? Do you know whether that button is also linked to the new automated speed limiter side of things or can you only switch that off (each time) in infotainment menu?

Apologies - just been out make a video of the function and I’m mistaken -  it only features on my Superb, not the Karoo where the space is blank.

Sorry mistac, my mind playing tricks on me - I will say though, that digital display and the buttons are all a bit much, talk about distractions…….

I have the button on my 73 plate Sportline and it brings up the menu to choose between Cruise or Speed limiter - so its a sort ot of short cut to using the two buttons at the bottom on that side to page through the options for the centre section of the dash until you get the one you need.

Thanks - from your signature I assume yours is standard spec? What I don’t understand is that most brand new/unregistered ones on auto trader at main dealers do not have this button?  So that suggests it is nothing to do with lane assist?

I've just been to check my steering wheel, apologies I have misled you, I don't have that  button. When I first saw the icons, it looked like Lane Assist with Speed Limiter on top. I have the button it its left which does bring up the sub menu as I described for Lane Assist, Speed Limiter, Cruise Control selection.  Mine is a standard spec though.  Until last week I'd never pressed that button and it was an accidental press when I did too. Like the heated steering wheel which I touched by mistake........
