Front O/S brake sticking on.

Featured Replies

Hi, as per title, front o/s brake sticks on intermittently, usually after 10-15 miles, changed the fuse links, changed both front calipers, changed the front o/s brake hose and had the ABS pump rebuilt (ECU  testing) but its still doing it, but perhaps not quite as bad as before. It tends to last for about 10-20 miles then its fine, on a run the fuel consumption go down from 65 mpg to about 45 mpg, that's how i can tell its sticking, but it does vibrate on occasions! Any advice is more than welcome, im thinking Brake M/C next, but shouldn't really affect just one wheel.

vRS 07 plate @75000 miles,

thanks Terry.

Finally cured it, BMC changed and sorted.

Well done, and thanks for coming back to let us know what fixed it. 👍

It will happen of there is not free play in the pedal linkage but will affect all wheels.

I'm pleased the OP has resolved the problem but it must have been as a consequence of the cylinder renewal and not as a result of.

I wonder if the other front wheel has a sticking caliper?

I had changed both front callipers, discs and pads and ABS pump, front hoses, fuses, to be on the safe side, it was just the next logical step.
