Skoda Octavia Scout trailer indicator warning buzzer stopped working.

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm just trying to locate my trailer indicator buzzer relay/unit so I can replace it because it's stopped working within the car. Think it sounded like it was near the fuses down by the lower RHS of steering wheel, though I never tried to locate it when it was working!

Skoda at Cramlington said they weren't really familiar with them as they hardly fit any towbars these days.

It looks like a Skoda towbar that's fitted, so no separate relay/buzzer located in the boot like when I've had towbars fitted before on previous cars (at Newcastle Trailer Centre).

Ps All the trailer lights and indicators are working fine, just no audible warning now within to let me know their indicating.

Thanks for any help

Andrew

I've had a close look at the parts catalogue entry for a 2010 Octy 1Z HERE but cannot see a separate sounder unit.

The page for the control unit is HERE, and a list of vehicles to which it was fitted is on the "Part fitment" tab (makes it easier when hunting for a used one).

I'm assuming you don't want to buy a new one at nearly 400 squid!

Thanks for that info Mike, I'll have to have a look in the boot and see if I can find the control unit.

No, definitely don't want to be paying that amount for a new unit, was hoping it might be a £20 relay near the fuse box in the dashboard side next to the steering wheel!

I'll let you know what I find.

The OE unit is located in the LH rear corner behind the boot trim, if your noise was coming from the front then you have an aftermarket towing relay like I do, it has either been located at the front, unlikely due to the long cable runs or it has an extension sounder circuit, mine is in the relay and only just audible from the rear.
