Coolant consuption in 2.0 TDI 190cv

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing a coolant consumption in my 2020 Superb Combi 2.0 TDI 190cv 7dsg. In 3000km it has dropped from maximum to minimum. I don't see any external losses...

I know the consumption is minimal... Could it be the low pressure EGR cooler? The truth is that this problem has me quite baffled with 132000km...

I don't know if this is related to the fact that my car regenerates the DPF every 150km.

Has anyone suffered this? Thank you very much.

Not an expert but on mine it was the waterpump - replaced with cambelt and problem sorted. Common issue.

I'm going to check it out. Will I have to remove the timing cover? At what mileage did this happen to you? Thank you very much.

Approx 40k miles I think. Just noticed it was gradually losing coolant, it was due a cambelt anyway so bit the bullet. Not sure about the timing cover sorry.

Hi vidmor is 40k the time to change belt on this engine its a bit early isnt it. Plus could you see the water pump leaking external

It was done at 5 years which I'm pretty sure is skoda schedule (in the UK). Didn't really look at the water pump tbh just noticed a slow loss of coolant that resolved after the cambelt / water pump service.
