Fabia vrs MK2 - croaking noise!

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I need to do an intro post with my new motor (switched to the VRS fabia estate from my 3.6 superb estate) but I'm busy sorting the little niggles that came with the car as a priority. One issue that is evading me is a very weird frog like croaking noise on acceleration, I can only hear it at slow speeds in lower gears but it's probably there in all gears I just can't hear it due to road and ambient noise.

I've attached a video with the noise, does anyone have a scooby do what it is? I'm coming from a string of N/A cars so turbo/supercharger noises and small engine noises are a little alien to me...if indeed that is what it relates to...

Cheers,

Sounds like the magnetic supercharger / water pump , but the timing chain is on that side aswell and can make a similar noise

Cheers Thomas, I took it in and had the supercharge pump replaced which was £800 - it had a lot of play in it, but it was not the noise, made no difference. They spent 2 hours trying to locate the source of the noise and struggled, they said they think it could be the fuel pump...but I'd spent too much by this point so I've taken it back. Very annoying
