Left passenger side of vehicle not working after battery change

Featured Replies

Hello everybody i have a skoda octavia 2006 1.9 Tdi i have changed my battery as my old one has gone flat and now i have issues with the whole left side of my car on the passenger side front and rear after i changed my battery, the windows dont work the locks dont work and the wing mirror indicator and puddle light dont work but the speakers in the doors do work but this has ALL worked before i changed the battery, the right side drivers side front and rear all work normally only the left side has issues. Any advice would be perfect thank you.

If it happened immediately after changing the battery and it appears to affect systems in different circuits i would check the Earthing points around the battery.

Other candidates:

- wiring loom from drivers' A pillar to drivers' door. Known for failed insulation, broken wires.  Controls both sides of vehicle but separately.

- as @Stonekeeper said above check earthing points but also around the passenger doors

- check your left hand lights work - tail, indicators, front, headlamp.

Disconnect the battery for half an hour see if that helps. But the above are also valid points in those posts

It has happened immediately after changing the battery so will try today and check the earthing points and the only lights that dont work are the wing mirror indicators on the passenger door and the puddle light in the wing mirror, otherwise the tail light works and the headlight works on the left side.
