Have the dreaded message - only leave leave vehicle in position P. Please visit the workshop car, Octavia DSG 2019 and only done 25000 miles.  Really annoying, have read this is a micro switch fault and common….obviously a manufacturer issue.   What are people doing regarding repair: I am reluctant to put into a Skoda dealer due to expected costs. 

Any suggestions regarding a cheaper alternative.  I live in the Glasgow area.

Car drives fine, plus fault comes and goes.

Try A is for Audi; the last time I had work done their labour rate was about half of Henrys', and they were using OEM  parts.

 

I had my 2016 DSG repaired recently at a cost of £215 from a Skoda dealer. The part itself is around £60 (depending if you have the black or white version) and it doesn't look to bad to do (there are instructions knocking about on how to change it)
