Brill thankyou so if the needle isn't going up then is it like a ring main where it's constantly grounded so check there on dash ??

Just to help here could someone post the wiring diagram like the Haynes one for instrument cluster.

@D.FYLAKTOSyou normally have these

Thanks if you can post

So after reading your posts, and then the other topics listed earlier by D.fylaktos we need to establish if the issue is in the gauge or not.

So as far as understand it you need to disconnect the connector at the fuel pump, then turn the ignition on, you should then get a reading on the gauge of around half a tank( or maybe full).

Could this be poor or missing connection(s) to the voltage stabiliser (poor earthing perhaps) or faulty or failing voltage stabiliser?

Thankyou next week will take dash out and check earth's ✔️

Do you actually need to take the dash out to check earths, I've told you a way of bring direct earths to any item by just running a temporary wire/cable/lead from the battery earth terminal clamp to that item or place.

Yes but if you can get to the dash main earth point without removing the dash it saves disturbing things, a probe or if possible a connect will give you a reading on a multimeter that you can compare with earth reading from main battery cable connector to battery terminal, or terminal clamp, to main earth connection on body of car and engine.  You want the figure to be just about the same for all otherwise you need to clean and secure earth connection(s) or check cables and wires for cracks, breaks or corrosion.

There was a very good video for this I'll see if I can find it again but no doubt there are many other videos perhaps as good or even better but many not so good ones too.
