Karoq Edition

Featured Replies

There is now a revised Karoq brochure effective from 17.10.24  which now includes Edition variants of all trims c63f4efb-a760-4a48-931f-baad88d42aa6 (skoda.co.uk)

I am now in a bit of a dilemma - I am shortly about to pick up a 1.5 DSG Sportline and I have added the Performance Package at £1060.00 as part of my order. I have not picked the vehicle up but suspect I will be doing so in the next week or two. Although the list price has risen by a few hundred £, there is now a Sportline Edition which includes nearly £3000 of extras - one of which is the Performance Package, the others being adaptive cruise control, winter package plus and columbus package .

As a result, my original order which was based on a very slightly lower list price but with the added £1060.00 Performance Package now comes to more £, than an Edition would have and that would have all the extras mentioned. As the build date for mine was early Sept, I am fairly sure my vehicle will not have those extras (I ordered a Sportline). Although the dealer may not be happy, my thinking is 1. Do I cancel order (if I can) & reorder a Sportline edition at less list price or 2. Ask that they deduct all or most of the £1060.00 as the Edition version now comes with Performance Package included. I realise car specs change and I think I have been really unlucky with the timing but I would feel aggrieved if I ended up paying extra for something that is now included as standard for less £ when I have not even taken delivery.

I do remember a few years ago I ordered a Karoq and asked what happens if I cancel the order. I was told no problem at all, they were glad of a new car to sell straight away. And that they would refund my deposit also.

I would feel a bit hard done by too! As you say, bad timing but still....

Hope you get it sorted to your satisfaction.

This is going to depend on your negotiating, and if the dealer needs the stock.

But they could play hardball and only accept the cancellation if you order replacement (and they are under no obligation to offer good discount on replacement).

You won't really know until you try, but set yourself a limit where you will say no deal prior to going there, write it on bit of paper, get it out after a while, look at it (don't show them the number) then start to walk if not what you decided.

If buying on PCP or similar, check interest rate of a new order as it’s probably higher than previously, making end price same or more than you paid.

According to the brochure the non-edition models are no only available from stock, so all new cars being produced in the factory will be the edition models.

Do you know if your car has been made and is on its way to you? If not, you could well be getting the new version at the old price.

Chris

Looking at the new brochure there seems to be an anomaly inasmuch as the SE is described as having the front and rear sensors as well as a rear camera but in the ‘extras’ it comes in at £890 extra!

Car already built and probably at UK port as I was told it was on a boat a few days back, so convinced it will be “old spec” - the very least I will be pushing dealer to do is knock off additional charge for performance package, but if we have any say in it I would prefer a new order (which I suspect dealer will be reluctant  to do) - if not, I could possibly withdraw from order but may lose my £500 deposit and may then get messy, but I am frustrated with current situation to say the least as many of those extras on edition trim are things I would really appreciate/use

That’s not the first time I have noticed anomalies in the brochure

Hi, my dealer messaged me late Friday to inform me that they have a build date for the second week of November so I'm hoping I'll get the Edition version. I've ordered a Karoq Sportline 2.0 Tsi 4x4 dsg with Winter plus package but I'll contact the dealer tomorrow to hopefully find out exactly what spec I will get. If they can't or won't tell me then I'll have to look at my options.

@mistac As far as I can see, in the brochure you linked to, the Performance package still shows as a £1060 option on the Sportline Edition ?

The Skoda website seemsto show different specs to the brochure/pricelist it links to!! For instance the SE L now has an Electric boot and Columbus Nav.

I picked up a new SE L last week, it was built around late Aug I think? was in Emden mid Sept when I ordered it.

It doesnt have the Edition spec...

Correct and that’s half the problem - part of the brochure shows stuff as standard and then elsewhere says it an option. However, on this occasion, I think the remainder of the brochure is correct and that the previously mentioned things are standard now, as I think that's the whole point of launching the new trim/model.

Popped into my dealer today to find out whether the Sportline I'd ordered at the end of August would be the Edition version but apparently it won't. It seems only order's after 17th Oct will be Editions. Decided to cancel my existing order and order the Edition instead. Another 4 month wait but hey ho.

And that appears to be what my dealer is going to let me do hopefully  - going to cost me slightly more (£10 per month)  because the PCP campaign interest rate is higher but I would be happy with that

Double checked with dealer - Sportline Edition now comes with ACC,DCC, Winter Package Plus & Columbus Package and they are letting me reorder - should be worth the wait!

@DockerBob I see you are also from Ipswich - was it Bristos Ipswich you dealt with?

Yes it was. They were very helpful as usual and didn't mind me changing my order. It did add £13 a month to my PCP but that doesn't bother me, as I'm getting the car I want.

Glad you got yours sorted too, probably get them around the same time I guess 😉

amended brochure/pricelist dated 18.10.24 now online which is now almost accurate (I want to say down to me as I monitor these very closely and inform Skoda Customer Services when they are wrong  - often one part of document contradicts another) - only obvious thing still wrong - which I advised them about - is that the tyre sizes for edition models are all incorrect - now just got to wait til Feb/March for my Sportline
