Lost 10MPG on my fabia vRS ????

Featured Replies

My car was off the road for 3 and a bit weeks. After an incident with a window and my arm.

Since I've got back on the road, I seem to have lost about 10MPG

I'm Averaging about 35MPG ranting it gets down to around 30MPG taking it easy I get as high as low 40s.

The car was left on my drive for 3 and a bit weeks with about 5-10litres of deisel left in it.

I used to get an average of about 47MPG

ranting Low 40s

and taking it really easy about 55MPG+

anyone got any ideas

I have filled up with a full tank of Tescos Diesel and and still same MPG

I'm thinkin the Deisel has gone off.

Unless someone can think of other ideas???

Ideas to fix at the moment is rant the car to flush the gone off deisel through

or fill up with Ultimate of Extra or maybe even use some millers...

If I hadnt been driving mine for 3 weeks, my mpg would be low too ;)

My thoughts too - you've been without it now for a couple of weeks ergo, you'vce been driving like a ****.

could someone tell me how you delete a post or could someone delete this one for me

Or maybe you have put on a little weight in the last 3 weeks? :D

Clean the air filter box and drop a new filter in it maybe, that gained me 10mpg back when i did it. Could just be some spiders or crap in the box.

Either that or you are just driving it harder and the hot weather?

the car had a service not long ago

It's all those stories you carry around with you

Checked the tyre pressures after leaving it lying about??

or crap in the box.

I'm not sure that's a valid recommendation - he's trying to clean the intake not make it dirtier

Chris

Its the heat....

I start getting sub 40mpg when temp goes above 18c ;)

Its a bit cooler going to work this morning and i was driving around the 2.5k - 3k mark and averaged 45mpg so looks like it could just have been the heat
