Lane Assist & Traffic Sign Recognition

Featured Replies

Just picked up our new (to us) 24 reg SEL Karoq 4x4 Tdi.  Still trying to get to grips with the infotainment and other systems.  I've only had limited time to really explore the tech - so apologies if I've missed something very obvious. However,...

Looking at the driver assist menu on the central screen, I can only see the front assist and driver awareness icons and no mention of TSR or Lane Assist on the screen.  The car's SE L spec description listed these two items as standard on the SE L.

Where might I find them (if at all!)?

from memory both (or at least one of these) these were added approx Apr 24 - I think you would know/would have found them if you had them?

I'd agree with that, mine was built around August I believe and does have both TSR and Lane Assist

you would definitely know if you had them! The TSR chimes in as soon as you go around 10% over the limit! and sometimes misreads signs so it complains when you're within the limit!. By default the lane assist will vibrate the steering wheel which I found disturbing and so managed to disable that. It still activates automatically on each start and will 'tug' the steering if you change lanes without indicating which is fine. What I do find annoying is when joining a dual carriageway, it operates as you cross the dotted line to enter the carriageway unless you indicate!

This is our 24 SEL Karoq with the TSR and Lane Assist turned off.

I’ve got  the two green circles on the screen, but not the two other “white’ circles, so I’m guessing the car doesn’t have those options, despite being a 28 June 2024 reg vehicle. Thanks for the image.

Have you signed up to Skoda Connect? One of the features is the ability to download a Digital Certificate. This gives the precise specification of the vehicle along with the recorded service history.

So for my Sept 23 registered Sportline, I get the production year - this is important as 2023 Sportlines didnt include Lane Assist or TSR.

It also shows the 'lifeline of my Karoq starting in 05/2023 - somewhere I found the actual build date but I can't remember where it was recorded but I know it was May 2023, confirmed by the certificate.

In the Service plan section it shows the date of the PDI and any services in this case my car was serviced in March 2024 just before I bought it (used) from a Skoda Dealer.

This might help you determine if your Karoq should have Lane Assist and TSR. I test drove a couple of 24 reg demo Sportlines in early April 2024, and they had TSR and Lane Assist.
