SKODA SUPERB 2016 TPMS FAULT

Featured Replies

Hi iv got a skoda superb 2016 uk model and after a puncture iv had a nightmare with my tpms keeps going off and keeps showing a tpms sensor fault even after reset and tire pressure check is there any way to deactivate it or install new sensors and it's the one attached to the abs sensor aswell any help would be great thanks

Superbs don't have sensors in the wheels 😞

indirect TPMS system calculates from ABS

to avoid guessing what's wrong, i have installed dTPMS

alternative set, independent to car's system

there is info how to install OE set, integrated to car's system

As above, the Superb has Indirect TPMS, using the ABS sensors to detect each wheel's rotational speed, and hence if a tire pressure is off.

Did u fix the puncture or change the tyre or put a spare wheel on?

When u reset the TPMS, did u hear a boing sound?

If ur still getting TPMS warnings then something might b wrong with ur ABS sensor!

Keep getting the warning coming up and a new tyre was fitted

i have installed similar sets to this

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006861769432.html

separate sets for summer and winter wheels

How do I install these just put them in the valve and also what or how do I deactivate the current indirect system?

I've had the same after having to change one tyre while the rest are part worn.

Keep doing the resets, eventually it will sort itself out.

@Nab93 - it's not a simple process to disable the TPMS.

There r a number of different modules u need to make code changes via VCDS or OBDEleven.

If I were u, I would b getting to my the root of ur problems.  Something is causing ur TPMS to trigger.

Have u scanned ur car for errors?

R ur ABS sensors good.

Which tyre is the TPMS sensor complaining about?  Usually it tells u which corner, like this....

I have scanned it with a few different scanners and when the light goes off no error but normally the error alternates with all the tyres

Still have problems with these damn tpms might change all 4 tyres to a single company and thread and see if that work

4 perfectly matching tyres, or even all 4 or 2 pairs at matching pressures are not required to not get warning with the TPMS when not faulty and resetting OK.

Yh i keep getting error even though the pressures are okay

So first things that need checking:

Have tyre sizes been checked to see if all 4 are exactly the same

Have tyre pressures been checked and exactly what they should be - front and rear may be different

Has the system then been reset through the dashboard and then the vehicle driven

Have any fault codes been checked to see if they are stored

If at this point you are still getting faults, we then need to start thinking of a possible wheel speed sensor or wheel bearing fault.

How long after the reset does the light come back on - in terms of mileage and time.

^^^

Then when you know it is not faulty there can be an odd sized Spare Wheel fitted at a totally different pressure, maybe even  narrow SPACE SAVER at 60 PSI and the TPMS reset and no warnings.

Or there can be different circumference tyres front and rear and no TMPS warning.  Or a new pair and an old pair on and still no TPMS warnings.

All the tyres are same size and pressure iv had a puncture today but it didn't throw up any loss of pressure just had that sorted will drive and see if it throws anything up I have reset the tpms in the multimedia aswell let's hope it's okay now
