Rear wiper motor problems

Featured Replies

Hi,

Had my rear wiper motor changed on my 2010 Octavia Mk2  L&K some time ago. since then its operation has become more and more erratic sometimes not operating at all, sometimes comes on when rear washer selected and sometimes it comes on and stays on until car stopped and the engine switched off, very annoying.

Was it a genuine SKODA part?

I replaced mine with a (I think) cheaper copy part and it acts erratically.

If I wipe the rear screen I have to immediately switch it off or it refuses to work for a few hours. 😒

Must be something dodgy in the electrics( /PCB).

If yours was replaced by a genuine SKODA part  by an official dealer then go back to the installer.

If not then I think the saying "Buy cheap buy twice" will apply.,

Did yoy change just the motor or the electronic part also?

In my case had something similar happening, turns out it was a cracked  soldering. Just resoldered and it works as new now.
