Engine temp low after oil cooler changed

Featured Replies

Hi all, a few weeks ago my oil cooler blew and so I brought it to a garage to get it all sorted out. Since then I've had some oil in my coolant tank but this was expected, so I rinsed it out and seems all good now.

Today when I was driving I noticed that my engine temp was low and I had driving for quite a long time. I put my foot down for 5 mins or so to get it back up to operating temperature but then when I started driving normally again it gradually dropped to about a quarter of the gauge so roughly 45. I was just wondering what could be causing this. Could it just be that my coolant system is running more efficiently now that it's been flushed?

Any help is greatly appreciated 🙏

If it’s a DSG, change DSG stat on the gearbox

I don't think it is, it's the 2.0L diesel Cr170 with a 6 speed manual.
