Whilst driving my boot open warning light keeps coming on but my boot is locked and latched shut

 

Any idea on what the problem could be?

Possibly a faulty wire or the latch switch itself.

 

Edit. A full all module scan may tell you more.

One other thing, did you happen to replace the interior boot lights with LED ones?.

I swapped out my boot lights for LED ones and now if the kids turn on the reading lights in the back I get a boot open warning .

Yes. the boot probably doesn't hold the microswitch fully broken, so when you go over a bump it registers "boot open" briefly.
