KESSY issue since update to 1985

Featured Replies

Sorry, searched forum and didn't find any help regarding the issue I'm currently experiencing...

KESSY has worked flawlessly since I picked up my 2021 Octavia a month ago, however, since I updated to 1985 a couple of days ago, it now no longer locks when you cover the button on the door handles (any of them)

It still opens when you grab the handles, but won't lock unless you use the key fob to do it manually.

Any idea's of what could be the cause of this or a possible work around..?

Try changing the fob batteries first, then reintroduce them to the car as if you were setting it up for the first time.

Do a factory reset mate, which will involve deleting yourself as primary user. Then when you re-establish that you'll need to go through the procedure where you press buttons on each key so that the car recognises you.

I did that, and the first time afterwards KESSY worked as it should, but hasn't since. I can unlock the doors without using the key fob, but can't lock them in the same way...

ahh, well if it's not going to help I don't think I'll do the reset 😉 I'll wait for the next OTA to fix it - hopefully

My wavy foot boot opener isn't working anymore, seemingly since the update. Anyone else?

I've had 3 OTA updates since upgrading but still the issue is unresolved

@TheWanderer had quite a few issues with this function I believe, although I'm not sure whether or not the cause was due to upgrading software

Mine hasn't worked properly ever since I've had it. So as it has had 4 software updates/revisions installed and it makes no difference I think that it's hardware related rather than software.

Perhaps the boot issue could be related to the issue I'm experiencing with KESSY? Both concern hands free methods of opening / closing doors anyway. I wonder if anyone from Skoda ever thinks to try and address these issues? Or is there any way of us reporting them to Skoda, without visiting a dealership..? 🤔

May be a red herring actually, it’s worked twice today just fine, perhaps it’s just been poor visibility / dirt.

Exactly my thoughts too - and, don't they do regression tests ?? - it's like they introduce new unintentional errors with every new software version and sometimes reintroduce old errors that has been fixed years ago !
Nope, getting in contact with Skoda insn't easy - that's through an authorized dealer every time - I use a local mechanic who is pretty skilled and is authorized to work on Skodas as well, but he does not even have access to all Skoda updates as well as the factory - he would have to go the same chain of command as me which is a Skoda dealer ......

My 2024 vRS had an issue with locking through the drivers door handle via kessy. No problem with the other handles.  Waving  the foot wasn’t working either intermittently. So far 1985 has sorted it.
