2024 se-L VC stuck on ‘Starting map view’

Featured Replies

I have posted this in another forum too but no luck so far. new kodiaq owner here, collected my brand new 2024 sel (diesel) few days ago. I have been trying to get the map view working in the virtual cockpit but it just says starting map view but never shows the actualMap. If I scroll the right hand steering toggle it shows the zoom in/out distance but no maps. Have tried everything I could find online and in the infotainment settings. I can cycle through amp view and the other one, but it does display the map

I have tried using only the cars navigation (no apple carplay/android auto connected) you can even see the next turn directions on the VC but not the map. Does anyone with the MK2 confirm they have the maps working in the VC, can you send your spec and software version numbers as I know someone else who took delivery last week also having the exact same issue so trying to see if its recent batch affected, surely it must work for others, it worked on the demo car I took for a test drive back in august,

see picture attached, hoping someone can help.

Unfortunately it’s a known issue on the MK2.

It requires a software update that Skoda currently have no timescale on.

Mine works perfectly. How can that be so? I'm not being clever but my SE L loads the map in VC no problem. I don't use it because it's pants but I could.

Seems to be hit and miss, works for some but not others. For those that it doesn’t work for, an as yet unreleased software is apparently the fix.

I’m picking up my SE L next week. I’m not too fussed if it works on mine as I’ll be using Google Maps and Waze via CarPlay.

I too have just purchased the mk2 2024 sport line and find myself in the exact same position. Due to take into the dealership this week but suspect reading the comments there won’t be much they can do without the software fix.

tad annoying as in the mk1 I would use the VC maps over the main console maps.

Have those in the thread had any luck fixing since the original posts were made?

Thanks in advance 👍

I have the same issue with 2024 Sportline. Dealer told me a few week ago it was a software update. Not heard anything since.

Am I the only one with maps on the VC? And I don't want or need them as the VAG satnav is pants.

Well that’s Sod’s law. I’ve always found the satnav was very useful on the Columbus in my Mk1, and seems to work OK on the Mk11 especially if searching for businesses.

I have the same problem with the new VC but still get directions on it. Happy with that until they find a fix, as the main display is big enough to glance at.

I was told to reboot by holding the power button on info system. This worked.

Just to update all, car went in for an update and issue is now resolved. Took 2 days for update to compete so be prepared.

Mine went in a couple of weeks ago. All sorts of electronic gremlins appear to have been sorted, including the VC map view.

Not sure it’s related, but the infotainment seems to not like both our phones.

1 Android and 1 Apple!

I think I’m going to have to delete both and start again from scratch.

If that doesn’t work, the dealer is having it back to sort it.
