warning in stop start system

Featured Replies

why has my stop start suddenly stopped working.

Is it possibly as simple as the state of charge of the battery?

Is it on the original one?

I don't know I've only just bought the car.

It worked when I first bought it but now I just get message stating - Error stop start.

Thanks Oootohere, I'll check it out.

I'd have the battery load tested for free by a trusted independent garage.

Have you checked in the car staus in your MIB unit?

This will tell you why the stop start is disabled.

Thanks for your feedback. But not sure what you mean cos l'm a complete novice to all this tech stuff. Could you please elaborate??

The first thing to do is get the battery tested - preferably with a high-rate load test. There is usually a date stamp on the top of the battery negative terminal (the one furthest from the front) the code format is WW,YY. E.g. 0116 will be first week in 2016.

Thank you for your help Warrior. I'll do that!

Assuming you have the MIB2 infotainment system (or possibly MIB2.5 if yours is a face-lift model) working from memory, if you touch the fault icon showing at the lower left of the screen, you should be able to read a brief description of the supposed cause of the fault - 'Load too high' while stop-start is unavailable is what mine flags if battery SOC is low.
