New pair of Shock absorbers on 2017 Skoda superb Sportline .

Featured Replies

Was wondering if someone can help me as I can not find a thread or I've missed it about a Skoda Sportline 2017 2.0 TDI. I've heard they have lower suspensions by 15mm.

Basically my shocks are gone on the back and planning on replacing them for a much for smoother ride. Was looking at the bilistien b6 but I'm not sure if it'll fit my car as it may be lowered. Also no DCC and I can't see any wiring coming from the Shocks.

Any suggestions on what I can put on the rear urgently.

As you have lowered ride height, I suggest you go for Bilstein B8 rather than Bilstein B6 shock absorbers.

However, if you think that you might fit standard ride height springs at some point in the future then Bilstein B6 would be ok.

The Bilstein B8 rear shock absorbers are 20mm shorter than the Bilstein B6 rear shock absorbers, as shown in the chart below.

Length of Bilstein rear shock absorbers (for Superb MK3 without DCC)

Bilstein B6 24-229890 rear shock absorbers Length 677mm

Bilstein B8 24-229937 rear shock absorbers Length 657mm

I have a Skoda Sportline 2017 2.0 TDI as well.  A couple of years back I looked at replacing the shocks.  Looking then I'd found that the Sportline sits about 10 - 15mm lower than a standard Superb.  But it is not "sport" suspension.

In the end I ended up going for KONI Special Actives rather than Bilstein B4 or B6.

With changing to the KONI SA was I had to change all 4.  If you change the rear to Bilstein B4's I imagine you'd be ok only changing the rears as they are OE replacement.  If you went for B6 "Performance" or B8 "Performance Plus" shocks, you might need to change all 4 (front & read) to keep the car balanced (like I had to do with the KONI SA).  Otherwise you'll have standard shocks on the front and "Performance" or "Performance Plus" shocks on the rear.

This is the thread about the KONI SA's:

I have the Saloon Hatchback Version so I don't know even if I do have sport suspension this is all too much confusing. So I can get the b6 performance right?

So can I get the b6 performance with the current springs I have? On all 4s

Do I even need the b6/8s as I need my ride to be smooth and not very harsh on potholes and bumps literally the car feels like it will split in half. The suspension is absolutely F**k*d

As above. B6 or B8 are the same but the B8 is shorter shaft. They are damped slower for a sportier ride but are still smooth. Either will work with your springs but IMO the B6 would be a better choice. When I did both my Octavia and Passat I spoke to bilstein who suggested the B8 is optimised for 30mm lower than stock. You should change all 4 if going the B6/8 route. The B4 is stock equivalent so a pair of those will work alongside the remaining pair. Although it sounds like all 4 could do with replacement anyway.

For clarity, the sport line suspension is lowered by the spring height and not the shocks. You could fit stock length springs and bring it back to standard height. DCC suspension is another matter. I've not been able to find details on that. Standard ride height and sports ride height is the same if both had DCC.
