Rear wiper random weirdness.

Featured Replies

For the last 21 months of ownership, the rear wiper wipes occasionally if the fronts are on.

A bit annoying sometimes, as quite often, the rear screen is hardly wet.

Today though, the auto rear wipe feature has magically stopped...apart from when I reverse.

Not sure if I'm pleased or unhappy about this tbh. Haven't altered any settings, not even aware of any for this feature, or has it either developed a fault, or cured itself?

I think I quite like it now being a manual function.

Stuff you computer, Victory! I'M now in control of this beasts rear wiper! 🥰

Hi,

I don't now if you own a hatchback or an Estate, but on my Estate, the rear wiper triggers on its own depending on the speed of the front wiper (even if the stalk is on the OFF position for the rear wiper).

It triggers when the front wiper is on AUTO position and is almost at continuous speed (no more intermittent).

But I agree, depending on the car speed and how the road is wet, the rear window is sometimes not wet enough and the rear wiper rattles a bit...

If I remember correctly, there is a setting for the rear wiper to be activated when reversing. If this is ON then the rear wiper will also wipe one time for every 10 wipes of the front window when going forward.   Turning off this setting solves the issue.

I didn't know that. I'll test it. Thanks.

I was annoyed by the 'auto wake up'  feature, which caused constant rattling and scraping, especially after putting the mudflaps.

I disabled it but do not remember if by VCDS or in the menus. I recommend it!
