Headlight scratch

Featured Replies

My kid was being helpful and doing some de-icing for me this morning and tried to get some ice off the headlight and from the ice scraper I now have a scratch down one of the headlights. I’m not exactly sure what they are made of, does anyone know if I will be able to buff it out with some kind of compound cleaner? I wasn’t exactly sure what the headlight covering was made of.

  1. Almost certainly some form of plastic.
  2. Maybe, but that depends on how deep the scratch is.

Most headlights these days are polycarbonate. If the scratch is not deep, one of those headlight restoration kits might work.

If its not too deep see if you can borrow a da or rotary polisher and buy some cutting compound ,its night on impossible by hand tho ,can you post a photo .
