Skoda Felicia door light switch

Featured Replies

In the past i had a problem with my passenger door (interior) light switch, sometimes worked sometimes not. I spray a bit of Contact Cleaner and OK but after some years i realize that it became lose, was a bit slacked but since still working i let it as is.

Few weeks ago i realize that the rubber cap was missing, probably from the wiping from the car wash the employee push it and lost.

I couldn't let it like this so i ordered from a Cz store the switch, the parts code is 6U0 947 561 A.

One night i decide to do the job, i realize that the slacken was because one of the clips was broken, has 2 like < and > shape.

I use my fingers to remove the first part (button and spring) but i had to use a bent pliers for the second (with 3 pins like Z style) and the third part revealed with the 3 pins.

The problem was that there was not enough cable to pull out to install the new switch, i tried but failed.

It was dark, cold and i was in a hurry and i didn't wanted to push things more (i was in the country and no car electrician close by) so i made a patent, put a screwdriver between the car body and the red socked so there would be enough resistance.

i made a test with he interior light and everything is fine. The photos are not good but i had no time for better but you can take an idea.

Has any other fellow Skodian had the same problem with me? It's indeed not enough cable down there or it was just mine? I wonder in the drivers door things will be again so ''tight''?

As for the plastic cap of course it's removable.

I didn't wanted to buy only this (even as a Used part) because the switch was a bit damaged.

This is the switch from Alhambra Ibiza Inca Cordoba , similar and you can see the 3 pins and the < > clips better, totally 4 parts.

Sadly this switch is for vehicles without antitheft alarm system
