Kodiaq PHEV dead

Featured Replies

Totally Peed off, my Kodiaq PHEV is booked in at the dealership for 8pm this morning and I am now waiting here at 1.30pm for the breakdown guys, as you may be aware there is no departure planner on the mark 2 Kodiaq PHEV so I plug the car in at around 8pm and immediately switch off on the app. At 1am (cheap rate) from my bed I try to activate the charge to start from the app on my phone, unable to connect so I get up to unplug the change cable and plug back in, I am unable to open the car on the key fob, or extract the charge cable so I extract the key from the fob and open it manually, everything in the car is dead nothing works. I phone Skoda assist and I am now waiting the breakdown guy, it wont be Skoda assist but a local company so I’m hoping he can resolve the issue. I have waited 2 months to get my car back at the dealership to resolve software issues (driver assist systems have not worked for over 2 months) I’m beginning to regret buying this car.

Happen to me too. The 12v battery, for some reason was not charged. It showed 3v, when measure. The guy from the towing/car assist company just gave it some extra power from an external/special battery and the car "activated" and started to charge the 12v battery. Just to mention: the big battery was at 33% and it was connected to charge, so very strange. At the dealership they did not found anything wrong on the tester or the 12v battery...

Just arrived from the Ford Owners Club where i owned and ran a Kuga PHEV for a few years.

While mine wasn't effected my colleagues was and looking into it the early Kuga PHEVs all had 12v battery drain issues, if you left charing too long it would drain the 12V etc.

Ford started software updates etc, not saure it ever cleared things up.

This may be an issue with all PHEVs. ??

Still no sign of the Departure Planner, makes charging very difficult. This combined with the ACC software issues make me regret buying this car. Avoid.

I've only just seen this post after posting my own very similar experience with my wife's Mk 2 Kodiaq iv. We've had the flat 12V battery issue 3 times now . There seems to be a design fault with the model - the Skoda Assist guys confirm that they attend many iv platform cars for this exact problem. Dealer and Skoda both carefully avoid answering about design issue . Waiting to go in for a 3rd dealer visit . First visit after breakdown lead to a software update. The second post breakdown visit lead to the 12V battery being replaced and an assurance that it would be fine now. The third dealer visit hasn't happened yet - we just let the AA gut start the car and we used it. DO NOT MAKE THIS MISTAKE _ IF THE CAR BREAKS DOWN - LET THE AA GUY FOLLOW YOU TO THE DEALER AND GET A HIRE CAR THAT YOURE ENTITLED TO IN THE EVENT OF A BREAKDOWN. IF YOU BOOK THE CAR AS AN ELECTIVE VISIT THE DEALER DOESN'T SEE ANY URGENCY AND OURS CHARGES FOR A COURTESY CAR AS WELL.

My wife is happy with the car itself - personally , I see very little to like about it . But 3 breakdowns on a brand new car mean this one has been a bad buy . I seriously regret getting rid of a perfectly good 10 year old Superb diesel for this thing and mourn the money wasted on getting a future-proofed car.

And it's a little worrying if replies to your post are being removed. I wonder how long this one will stay up if they are being actively removed.

We have two new Kodiaqs (IV) in our company as company cars here in Finland. Me and my colleague have those.

My colleague has had 12V battery drain two times so far in three months. I've had my Kodiaq two months now and 12V battery has failed once, after 4 weeks of use. Today got my car back from ACC and travel assist issues repair.

Does not look good so far..
