Boxster Damaged:-No details left........

Featured Replies

Am not a happy person at the moment:mad: ,

Been out today and returned to car to find the passenger side door and rear quarter all dented.

No details left,no surprise there!!!!

Am insured with Admiral so i know they will recommend there local approved repair but i want it fixed at the official Porsche center.

I can do this can't i?

Any one who is in the insurance industry give me any tips on how to speed up the process and make sure the insurance don't try and take me for a ride?

All help and advice very much appreciated.

You can have it repaired wherever you want but your insurance may refuse to supply a courtesy car, however I'm pretty sure the dealer you use will sort this for you. Also your insurance company may ask for an alternative quote but this could simply be from a different Porsche dealer.

Sorry to hear another ******* has driven off like that.

You can insist they use Porsche approve reapirers if you like and they have to honor this. They like to use their places as it gives them more leverage and discount.

They will usually guarantee work dsone by their repairer, however I would find out where you stand regarding your own chosen repairer.

Regarding not taking you for a ride the best thing to do if you have problems is to write to their complaints department, and if needed contact the insurance ombudsman. This however should be a last resoprt as insurance companies don't like them getting involved as it costs (or used to cost) the insurance company money which ever way they decided.

As for the driver, you horrible f**king little sh*te. You are indeed a pimple on the anus of humanity.

It bugs me, some **** hit my bumper on Saturday afternoon in a multi storey.

Luckily only paint damage but it's still going to cost me. I am going to see if there is any CCTV.

Know how you feel, happened to my Saab as per my thred a few weeks ago. My car is still waiting to be fixed as the insurance company are dragging their feet as I refused to use their "Approved" bodyshop (which is the local Ford Dealers) and insisted I wanted the work done by a Saab specialist.

They asked for a quote and details of the work required from my Saab people and then informed me that it would take 4-6 weeks for their "Engineers" to review the proposed work and agree a cost with my guy's

To be honest its utter b0llocks and all part of some ploy to get me to cave in and use their approved people. It will be 4 weeks this week, and if they have not been in touch with the Saab Specialists I am going to hit the f'ing roof with them over the phone.....

Hang in there though and make the ba$tards pay out..... you are entitled to get your car repaired where ever you want (as long as VAT registered etc... bla, bla, bla). The only reason they have "approved" body shops is because they agree a contract to pay

Firmly insist on using the bodyshop you want. Get quotes for them yourself if you must. I've had the same with some hifi equipment when we got robbed of them years ago. Wanted to replace a 400 quid centre speaker with a POS el cheapo 50 quid one. Kinda pointed out it was not like for like and ended up getting a full quote from a hifi dealership instead. Eventually (3 months of papershuffling) it was done.

Car wise I was more lucky as my car needed a respray and unlike in your case, my car wasn't worth finding a brand-specific specialist. In your case it IS (imho) so stick to your guns

As said above the insurance company are OK for me to get it repaired at another garage, have to get 2 quote etc.

Then get the car booked in etc,i also need a courtesy car at the same time so that will add a few weeks onto the time taken.

i estimate the cost of damage to the Boxster at a minimum of £4000,more than likely more.

Will keep you up to date, going to the approved repair center on FRiday to get the 1st quote done.
