Fabia 2 (2010) 1.4 diesel battery replacement

Featured Replies

Evening all,

MY other half's car has just failed the MOT for a leaking battery, ordering a replacement all the sites suggest an 027 battery, however there is a 096 battery in the vehicle, same height and width just a difference in length with the 027 being shorter.

The 096 fits well and I am not adverse to replacing like for like, but am I missing something here why the bigger battery has been fitted, clearly it is an after market and without stop start I am not sure where there is the need?

I am leaning towards getting the the recommended 027 battery which is a little cheaper as well.

I'd sooner have the higher capacity battery, particularly in a diesel "just in case..."

027 will be fine.

All of my 2.0TDi Skodas had 027 batteries fitted from the factory, I chose to pay the small premium for the 096 but would be happy with an 027 on a 1.4l TDi engine.
