Amundsen screen

Featured Replies

Hello folks,

For those of you who are not aware, Fleabay have lots of replacement screens available for lots of different media units. I recently purchased a screen, (complete, not just the touch sensor part,) to repair my damaged screen. Last year I bought a touch sensor screen, in my deluded sense, I thought I could replace the old sensor by removing it, wrong I ended up breaking the actual display screen and so replaced my Amundsen with an X-tron, which I like but doesn't work quite like the original. While browsing I happened upon complete replacement screens and they are easy to replace when you have the right tools, torque drivers. Good luck.

The trick here is not to try and remove the damaged digitizer but to disconnect it, cut off the ribbon cable and overlay with the new ebay one and reconnect. I did mine a couple of years ago and its still working fine.
Cheaper than buying a screen module or an extrons although that does give you car play etc

Yeah, I found that out to late! But a complete new screen has done the job nicely.
