I don’t know if anyone has had this problem god it just has to happen to me, i bought new anti roll barr bushes from the motor factors. When putting them on i noticed that the bush were it splits was not split at the flat part like it should but split on the curve so when i tightened up the bracket theres a 5mm gap and its slightly twisted they cannot be the right ones

On the MK2 there are different thicknesses of antiroll bar. Maybe the same with the MK1. I read there is also a plastic sleeve which tends to break and disapear. Best option is to measure bar diameter. On my mk2 the bushes are 19mm with sleeve and 21mm without.

@Joe41 - @Alasdair1 is correct that there are several diameters of front ARB (ex works) for the mk1. It's also possible to fit some VW or Audi parts, so you need to measure the bar diameter before buying parts.
