Engine Cover

Featured Replies

I bought my x-demo Octavia recently and noticed the engine cover was missing.  The dealer thought it might have never had one - but the little pins that the cover would clip onto are there.

My suspicion is that they had robbed it for another car.  Can anyone confirm if there should be one or not?  Facelift 2024 1.5 TSI e-tec.  Thanks.

They were removed due to a recall for a fire risk.  It should then have been replaced with a new one under warranty when available.

Thanks for the information. Do you know if the new covers are now available?

@Gordon55  What job does the person you asked at the dealership have?   They should have gone and asked someone that could be bothered.

I did not think the 1.5 TSI,s or 1.5 TSI e-Techs were part of the recall, but it is for them to find out.

OK, thanks folks, can someone please confirm that there should be an engine cover?  If so I’ll chase the dealer about it - or Škoda UK if I have to.

AFAIK that was the case for the 2.0 TSI engines, in the early years of the pre-facelft mk4 Octavia.

As for the facelift model with the "revised" version of the 1.5 TSI model, all pictures/videos I saw were showing there's no more engine cover. It's just a small plastic around the oil plug - as in the picture below.
Can you post a picture of your engine bay?

@SkOmk4  thanks very much for the information. I’m not with my car right now but I’m certain it looks exactly as your photo above - so no cover is correct it seems.
