User selection screen auto-confirm possible?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I it seems like I am the only one annoyed by this because there aren't any on-topic posts about this.

I am, for a very long time annoyed every single time I start my car, as every single time I get the "loading user" screen followed by the "Welcome"  screen.

I am always wondering what the heck is the car loading, as my Steam-library has more reasons to load that long but actually loads faster. But this is beyond the point, it was just a rant and the loading rarely takes longer than 10 seconds.

My actual annoyance comes from the "welcome" screen, after, where I can manage users.

EVERY... SINGLE... TIME... I am then required to press a button on the infotainment to continue. Although ever since I bought the car the user profile hasn't been changed once and there is no other user profile (except for guest but that cannot be removed). Isn't there anything that can be done? I would even accept a couple seconds timeout, after which it would automatically continue into my user profile, but no. Unless I press on the damned button I cannot start my windshield heating (as it doesn't have a physical button) or do anything with the infotainment.

Have you tried asking the dealer to make you the primary user via the Skoda app?

This can sometimes be tricky if you are not the first owner due to the previous owner not fully de-registering themselves.

no need to go to dealer

You can become main user very easy. Just follow onscreen instructions.  and you need both keys

Yeah I fell like a complete idiot.

I was 100% sure that I am the primary user as I followed the steps, had to have both keys with me and the whole deal and never changed anything.

And I technically am the primary user. However, at some point, someone (probably while the car was in the service) must have change it and selected the guest user. It was around the time of a Software update that I noticed the initial "Welcome" screen never really going away on it's own unless I click "OK".

After the response from Aldfort, I went into the "Change User" screen, with the confidence of "pfffft.... I am the primary user and I haven't touched it since I bought the car". I was humbled really quickly when I saw that the "Guest" user was selected.

Thinking of it now, I shook of the change after the update as "skoda screwed up" but I also remember that the car was in the service around the same time. And I think I am not the only one who had settings changed after a visit to the dealer...

Yeah now the screen stays for a few seconds and then jumps Carplay which is exactly what I wished for.
