Morning all.

Got a bit of an odd ball for you lot.

When i lock the car i can here it lock.

Half a second later it “clicks”. Car does lock and the alarm is active.

Used the car today and its set up to lock when its in motion.

I tried to lock it via the padlock button but its not doing it. Has any one got any ideas on what its doing ?

Perhaps one of the door locks is not working. Lock the car and check if any of the doors is unlocked.

Its the left door thats not locking ! Any ideas on how to repair it ?

Otherwise, I wud say that lock has to be replaced or repaired. Really need to take it apart to see what is broken or if through out cleaning and greasing fixes it.

I have a MY19 Octavia estate and had all sorts of strange things happen to my doors, locking/not unlocking/alarms going off, seemed to have a link to whether it had been raining or not. After trying to understand the problem I got a main dealer in France (we were on holiday) to check for fault codes. He smiled when I explained the problem and took less than five minutes to identify the problem. It seems it is a well known problem with the front doors electronics The only solution is replacement. UK dealer who fixed the problem, for £400, more or less admitted it was a known issue.  I was 4 weeks out of an extended warranty!
