Karoq SE Tech questions

Featured Replies

Thinking of buying a 21 plate Karoq 1.5 DSG SE Tech from the MIL and have a question. No doubt more will follow, no point in asking Mrs DSL to ask the MIL as the answer will be “no idea”. It’s a standard car, no extras, it’s even Cheap Seats Blue, they didn’t believe in spending money on paint.

The first question.

From looking at pics on like of Autotrader, looks like SE Tech has keyless start, does it have keyless entry? If so, can it we switched off?

TIA

Perfect, many thanks. 👍

Must improve my Googling skills. 🙁

I have a 21 plate Karoq SE Tech, it has keyless start but not entry.

You could obtain the VIN (ask MIL to take a photo or write it down), run that through a VIN decoder, and see whether the output includes

"4F2 Central locking system 'Keyless Entry'"

Great idea, will snap a pic of the windscreen VIN next time I get to the car.

Can you not just look at the door handles and check for the sensors?

Good thinking. I doubt it will have them as they don’t do “extras” but it was a stock car so not unknown for the dealer to tick a box or two.

OK, forget the above, but thanks for the replies. MIL is going to keep driving for another year so. Looks like our 14 year old Jazz will be soldiering on for another year at least.👍

If it has Kessy, Keyless opening, it can be disabled. Mine is. Then use an RFID pouch for carrying keys in my pocket.

So lock car with button on keyfob, put fob in pouch and pouch in pocket. As Haynes manuals would say entry is reverse procedure.

Stop start requires the key to be in the car to work.

Note you need to register the keys to the car via the primary users.

You need BOTH keys when you buy the car and remove ALL users , generate a new prime user and password and change the Skoda Connect App.

Otherwise previous owners could access the car and or track the location.
