MK4 Octavia vrs rear brakes.

Featured Replies

Just put my 2021 vrs through MOT at 24k miles the main dealer rang me to tell me I had 2.5mm on rear passenger pad and 5.5 mm on rear driver pad, they suggested I might need new caliper/calipers, discs and pads £1,200+,I returned to the dealership as I was waiting and was 10 min walk away,i returned as the car was having its annual service before the MOT,they suggested the issue might be under use !!!!!!!!,the car hadn't at this stage been mot'd so I said please put it through, it passed with advisory regarding rear pads ( the front pads where both 10mm,tyres where fine both back are original 4.5-5 mm across both tyres.i have contacted Skoda customer service and they have given me a case number which only lasts 21 days,as the main dealer is 180 mile round trip the car is booked in locally for rear pads locally, and booked in with the main dealer in 6 weeks as this was the earliest they could get the car in, any help/support/suggestions would be appreciated, the lack of use suggestion was unbelievable in my opinion.

So the dealer told you 2.5mm/5mm rear pads needing expensive work but then in the MOT said 4.5/4mm and only gave an advisory?

Sounds like someone “errored” which could have resulted in a bill you didn’t need?
