Fuse confusion

Featured Replies

Hi,

Hoping someone can help.

My USB/AUX/12 volt socket stopped working. Blown fuse which I've replaced & now fine.

Issue I have is that boot will now not unlock. Central locking is fine. Obviously I must have done something stupid like pull a fuse when I was poking around.

Looking in the manual there should be a fuse in position 22 but none of the fuses I have slot in. Probably missing the obvious but is there are certain type of fuse that will fit?fuse layout.jpg

Thanks for your help.

It's definitely the 2014 version as fuse 40 was blown & when I replaced it it brought the USB/12 volt back to life

Fuse 40 is the 12v socket in MY2015 too

In amy2014 fuse 50 is unassigned but you have one?

Manual says 50 is unassigned. I don't have anything in there1742139145746111322824163989948.jpg

Says 22 is luggage compartment door opening but I don't know what fuse fits 22

Strange but your pictures actually helped, because i realise i have been looking at my diagrams upside down in comparing your first fusebox picture.

You don't have a fuse 50.

But again i can see none missing.

Could 22 mean a powered tail lift?

Could it be an unrelated central locking programming/remote problem, what happens if you press the unlock button twice or hold it down?

You could be right yes. Though if the manual is listing something should be there I'm concerned I've taken it out.

It may be my picture is upside actually due to the way my phone posted it

Could you link that post directly please so I can access the YouTube link. I couldnt find it via search

This should be a little clearer than the manual - https://www.startmycar.com/gb/skoda/octavia/info/fusebox/2014

Daft question, but if you think you pulled the wrong fuse, do you now have a spare? Generally if your car doesn't have XYZ feature, and the fuse is empty, then there won't be any terminals in there for a fuse to go into.

Not a daft question. I'm likely the daft one for messing about with it.

I don't have any spare. It's entirely possible I've pulled one related to the boot & not put it back in the right place.

I found the diagram you linked before which is why I was wondering if position 22 was the boot one? But none from the replacement fuse pack I brought fit

Solved.

Went to use the windscreen washers today & they didn't work. Checked the diagram:

F42

"Control unit for central locking rear door - left, right, headlight cleaning system, windscreen wipers"

Fuse was there but not in properly. Pushed it in & boot & washers now work. Must have pulled it & not put it back properly.

What a prat 🤦
