MKII FL VRS CR car juddering under acceleration

Featured Replies

Hey guys, Ive been having a problem with my car juddering under load worst between 2000-3000 and I can't get to the bottom of it just wondering if anyone has experienced something similar or has any idea what the culprit could be ( can be felt in the floor and through steering wheel)

Put these in the car today... unfortunately no difference although the DMF was needed so could be worse off

DMF + Clutch kit

Driveshafts

Control arm bushes and droplink + all other mounts and bushings checked

Its not a misfire under load is it? My old octavia 1.9tdi used to run great but used to misfire underload causing a judder. Would only do it if I accelerated hard above 3000rpm. I used a couple of doses of injector cleaner and it seemed to cure it. It could also be a tyre thats got mishapen which in my case caused a weird wobble through the seat and also a bit through the wheel. Might be worth swapping front to rear to see if it makes any difference. The tyre was more speed related rather than revs but so noticeable at low speeds.

I'm not 100% sure it hasn't logged any codes and hasn't shown an EML, forgot to mention the car is remapped but I had the map for 6 months with no trouble before the problem showed up. I have VCDS on the way and im sure I can read the injector values then

Maybe VCDS will ping something up. Just wondering if its a failing cam sensor or similar.

Hard know to be fair, I just find it odd how it is absolutely fine in 1-3rd gear but 4th 5th 6th is like driving on cobblestone if the pedal is more than 1/3rd depressed in low revs

just realised i forgot to mention that in the original post

Just wondering if its a problem with DPF if fitted. Have heard of cars juddering when trying to do regen? It may be a bad engine mount as well but I would have thought it would be present at lower gears unless its speed/torque related.

Hope VCDS helps.

Oh well can't be that then. Is the cat still fitted. Just wondering if its restricting the flow/blocked. Try running it on supreme diesel for a couple of tankfulls if your not already if VCDS doesnt find anything. Might be worth a bottle of injector cleaner as well. Long shot but It could be a bad pattern from an injector.

Was just checking some values on VCDS, I'm far from a pro but I was looking at block 13 on the Engine module and the injector measurements seem to have quiet a deviation

I haven't logged them under load but the idle deviations are as follows for anyone who might have any insight

Cyl 1 : -2.52mg/str

Cyl 2 : -0.94mg/str

Cyl 3 : 2.40mg/str

Cyl 4 : 1.01mg/str
