Make it hard to get repairs done and tell lies

I have a 2024 skoda kamiq 1.0 se manual and I am fairly happy with it good on fuel and nice to drive only little problem is when I put full lock on the steering I hear a rubbing noise which I believe is some bearing that needs replacing but I'm not a mechanic so asked skoda to take a look and wasn't expecting any special treatment but trying to get an appointment is hard as they claim to be booked solid for months and get breakdown service out so I did and he wasn't happy about being called out as I had not broken down and that was a waste of time for both so I tried calling the skoda dealer where I got car from and again no joy getting an appointment sorted just same old excuse and call skoda assist again so decided to just turn up and get them to look and see the problem again after being there about 2 hours a technician did have a look but just drove it up and down the straight road opposite no turn on full lock to hear the noise I believe that they did that just to get rid of me as I was getting frustrated with the bs I seem to get at this skoda dealership as on a previous visit my dash came up with check oil level and didn't want to put too much in and skoda told me call in and we will sort it I even bought my own oil but didn't use it and I was there 3 hours for them to top oil up anyway after getting more frustrated waiting I was told that they had to remove some oil as I'd put too much in only to discover no oil was removed just topped up as the technician reports only thing done was top up so why lie and not just be truthful say we are busy please be patient as I didn't have a appointment that day booked since then I've not been back as now I'm having issues with green room rewards but that's another story

When is the car due a Service & how many miles has it done?

Are you going to have Fixed / Annual servicing?

Maybe just a caliper / brake pad sticking, but you need to get it in to be checked properly incase it is a Warranty issue. If you told them when you here the noise and yet the Technician or Fitter never put the car on full lock they are not someone i would be trusting.

Was there anything done like a wheel taken off or at least a good look see?

Best that you learn how to check the oil regularly. Engine / oil up to normal operating temperatures so you will have done at least 5 miles. Stop on the flat and after a few minutes check the dipstick. Plenty posts on here or in owners manuals if the area on the dipstick the oil should be showing on. When you know where the oil shows when hot you can check once the engine and oil is cold so that in the future you know before trips if you have enough oil in.

I've got 13500 miles on it

At skoda it didn't even go into the workshop and it's a motability car

Just drove it up and down a straight road was a waste of time and they did that just to get shut of me. Didn't even pull into workshop to take a closer look the car drives fine in a straight line no warning lights and never missed a beat it's only when full lock on turning round I'm no mechanic but how I can describe the noise is I had a vw passat previous and needed wheel bearings it was the same sort of sound if that makes any sense apart from that I did have someone out from skoda assist but he wasn't too pleased when he came as I'd not broken down but did have a look at the wheels and said there was a small stone stuck in brake caliper and would be needing new pads in coming months the wheel wasn't taken off either so I've given up on it as I've got some personal issues to deal with and I'll end up getting stressed out over something small

My car is from Motability.

I do not mess about.

I call Motability i tell them their car has an issue, i tell them the Dealership could not care less.

They arrange for the RAC to get me a Courtesy / Hire car and for my car to go to a Dealership.

They are dead nice and tend not to take crap from Dealerships if they need to deal with them.

Your car does just get Variable / Flexible servicing so not to 2 years, or the 18,000-20,000 miles.

Before all that i think you need to ask speak with the Dealership Principle.

They get paid well for Maintenance, or actually not well for a Warranty issue.*

Dealerships do well from supplying cars to Motability even if the lying BARSTEWARDS say their is nothing in it for them.*

Motability are not liking adverse publicity they are getting and you are paying £11,000 leasing that car for 3 years,

best not let a Skoda Dealership ruin the experience.

I will make sure that Motability see this thread. Maybe tell the Dealer Principal about it.

MAYBE NAME THE DEALERSHIP. SKODA UK CAN READ THIS THREAD.

I almost ran out of breath reading that! As @Ootohere says, checking/maintaining oil level is one of the basic things that you need to be able to do, along with checking/maintaining tyre pressure, changing a wheel, etc. It's easier to be able to sort those small issues yourself - not to mention you should a) be checking them fairly regularly and b) if you go for a road trip, it may come in handy!

Regarding your issue, I would personally take the car to an Independent and see what they think. Volks Work LTD and VASS Autotech are both near you and have a good reputation. This does run the risk of the dealer saying that someone else has touched it, etc, but as you have already had the car in with them and don't believe they did a proper job, I wouldn't think this is a major issue.

If you can let us know about the servicing/mileage/purchase stuff that Ootohere asked for, I'm sure we'll be able to help further.

Perhaps, if you're that unsure about oil levels, you could also ask the indie/dealer to show you what to do? My local dealer is very friendly and would help without hesitation (although they are the only reasonable main dealer I've ever come across).

Not so easy for all if Disabled. So that needs taking into account.

If you have a Diesel then with Motability you get free AdBlue top ups,. you just arrange a time at a Dealership.

Part of the MAINTENANCE CONTRACT with the MANUFACTURERS in the UK.

DO NOT TAKE A MOTABILITY CAR ANYPLACE OTHER THAN THE TYRE PLACES ALLOWED OR DEALERSHIPS.

HAVE MOTABILITY ARRANGE A COURTESY CAR IF SKODA ASSIST IS BEING HOPELESS.

THE RAC ARRANGE THE COURTESY CAR, OR IF NO CAR YOU GET REFUNDS ON THE £75 a WEEK PLUS YOU PAY FOR A CAR.

No, you're right - I didn't think of that.

Perhaps even more reason that OP should be looking toward an independent - I think they're far less likely to take the p*** out of anyone that needs some guidance/honest advice/assistance.

I just feel that when I was getting the car they couldn't be nicer and once I'd drove away it's not the same when you ask for an appointment and say that they booked up for months get skoda assist out just seems bonkers like I've said previously I'm no mechanic but can change wheel if i had a spare and that only issue that worries me is topping up the oil and been told not good to put too much in skoda did top it up free after buying some 0w 20 I haven't used so can't complain about that even though they did give a bs story I'd overfilled it although when they sent me a report the only thing done was top the oil up according to the technician report.

There's is more silly goings on after but it don't have anything to do with the car directly.

Sorry for the long story guys but thanks for taking time to read and advice

On a 2024 car it will tell you if you've over or under filled the oil!
