Charging issue superb iv mk3 2020

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I just bought (few months ago) skoda superb iv 2020.

Occasionally, I have issues problem to charge my car no matter which kind of charger I use. Sometimes charging starts and after a few seconds or a few minuts stops, sometimes doesnt start at all. Most time it works normally...

Is there any known issue about, or do I have to update my car software?

Current software version is 0278..

Thanks in advance,

Regards to all!!!

Check the timers you have in the infotainment. It could be they are set by the previous owner.

Is it also possible that the car was previously part of octopus intelligent (or similar)? The stopping after a short time and not charging ever times sounds like the behaviour if had with my Passat on intelligent until I disabled the automatic charging. If the previous owner hadn't set up but has not removed it from their account, it might be fighting back and forth.

Thanks to your reply. As I saw, there are no timers that was setted. How can I check setting about automatic charging? What does it mean automatic charging?

Certain electric tariffs have the ability to automate a cars charging schedule to align it with grid demand. It allows them to charge vehicles when the grid is in low demand and thus passing cheap costs to the user. It is set in the energy providers app.

The only way I can think of to got round it without contacting the previous owner is to get onto the Skoda app and interrogate the settings. There should be some kind of permission in there allowing the remote access of the charging.

Yesterday again charging interrupted after 40% charged. On house charger. I have tried more times to connect and reconnect, charger bilniking red. First time I saw that charging interrupted, only last icon on charger (car icon) was red premanently.

So, I was disconnected a charger, started motor manually, waited engine to get temp on 90 degrees C, turned off and connect again. After that, everything was ok, chargning continued.

Now, as I remember, diagnostic tool read an error on some temp sensor. The day before when charging was not interrupted, cooling fan ocassionaly turning on and turning off. Yesterday cooling fan didnt worked before problems.

It seams that I have to go to official Skoda servis...

When you say "house charger" is that the slow plug (granny cable) or installed charging point? If the granny cable then it could be faulty. They are not known for their durability and they are also not advised to be used full time. Home electrics are not designed to supply that level of power for prolonged periods.

It is brand new, comes with car, original, never used. But problem occurs even on public chargers
