Electric boot not fully opening when warm

Featured Replies

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas what to look for for this.

SEL with the electric boot, I don't believe it's the struts/motors at fault.

Whenever it's warm outside say about 10 degrees the boot doesn't want to open fully it gets half way then stops with the error beep and then you have to force it open. It did it last summer but as we got into the colder temps and all during winter the boot worked no problems opening fully, Now the temp is picking back up it's getting half way then stopped. Tried to see if i could see any damaged wires but couldn't see any. Codes so hall sensors so im wondering if somethings expending when its hot and making it look like theres an obstruction so stopping it.

Something @varaderoguy might be able to point you in the right direction with.

Can you check your fuses please? The slightly worrying output from above is that there is no supply voltage to the hall sensors.

There may be something useful in here or here.

Not too sure about this supposed update. @TheDaneWithSuperb was active a week or so ago, so hopefully they found a solution?

no issues with fuses works perfectly fine when the weather is cold usually sub 8 degrees but anything above that and it doesn't fully open

  • 3 weeks later...
